Listed among Minnesota’s official symbols, is the official State photograph, called “Grace”, by Eric Enstrom, taken in 1918, in Bovey, MN. Enstrom’s daughter made numerous oil paintings of the photograph. I’ve had a copy of the painting in my dining room for a long time.
Goodnight just came back from poking around in a thrift shop. She had a big grin on her face and a very large package in her arms.
“I bought something for you, Grammy.”
She bought me a print of a photograph that compliments Enstrom’s Grace. It’s called “Gratitude” by Jack Garren, taken in the 1960′s, in Centralia, IL.

Looks like I have to rearrange the art on the wall in the dining room to make room for “Gratitude.”
Thank you Goodnight.

Ahhhhh… grace and gratitude. Two beautiful words. GN did GREAT! How thoughtful and how perfect!
I looked up Enstrom to see if he is related to the Enstrom Candy family here. One of the Enstroms from the Enstrom Candy family is running for a local office here.
Carol: Was there any relationship?
Oh, sorry. I left that part out. I didn’t see any relationship in my short search. You are so good at ancestry, I bet you’d dig deep enough to find out. But that would take you off track from your own family. I just may get curious enough to look further…
Carol: I get off track all the time! Easy to do, but kinda fun.
Quite a wonderful gift.
