When GN woke up Saturday morning after her high school homecoming dance, after our discussion about consequences for a little infraction, she took a deep sigh of relief. But . . . interestingly enough, the deep breath she took through her nose ended up sounding like a train whistle. Seriously! It did! I never heard anything like it before.
It caught is both off guard. We laughed and laughed, then recorded it so we could continue laughing. However, I decided it sounded as if she was coming down with a cold. The congestion made her nose sound like a cross between Thomas the Tank Engine’s toot, and a pennywhistle and that was when she inhaled, not exhaled. I changed our plans for the autumn drive and had her drink extra fluids, and get some rest. Children first, football is down my list of priorities a bit.
I wish I could upload the audio, but if you click on the Thomas and Friends link at the 20 second mark, Thomas is backing up and tooting. That’s how GN sounded. We’re still having fun with it today.
You got me laughing! I can just imagine. I hope that GN’s whistling days are few – even though the sound is good for a laugh.
Carol: The whistling is gone, but we have the recording for when we need a dose of posterity.
Hope she is feeling better …. I almost read that last bit of your comment above as “nose for posterity”
Sandie: In a way it is ‘nose for posterity’, too.
