One of the last tasks I had on my list to get Goodnight ready for her first day of high school was to shorten her new school jeans. She got the same ‘short’ genes that her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother received.
So, my chore for the day was to cut and hem. I had all three pairs done before GN rolled out of bed.
Finishing my chore for the day so early this morning finds us both with a lot of day left to fill and no chores or cleaning, so we will be out and about, doing this and that, going here and there, looking at whatnots and thingamabobs and generally spending time with Dilly and Dally. I just want to distract the teen from her nerves, get her some fresh air and a low stress day. In fact, it won’t hurt me either! I’m hoping there will be some frivolous ornamentation involved in our outing today.

GN – Just remember tomorrow that all your freshman classmates are just as nervous as you. Some will hide it better than others. But everyone will get through it and settle in. Make a memory.
