The National Football League required that teams make the final cuts to their rosters to 53 players by the end of August. I’m still making the rounds to see who’s still active, but my first stop was to the Arizona Cardinals. I want to congratulate Michael Floyd for making the team and the cut. He is wearing #15, playing wide receiver, and the Cardinals got a good player in their first round draft pick. He’ll be wearing red, white and black now.
We’ve been watching Floyd play for a long time. He is a recent graduate of Notre Dame, where he wore the navy blue and gold of the Fighting Irish, but . . . he is a native of Saint Paul, Minnesota where he also played for his high school team, Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders. I don’t get to all the CDH games, but I saw him play there, too. CDH’s colors are gold . . . and purple.
Best of luck, Michael Floyd!
Outstanding news. He seems to have gotten himself squared away after some questionable decisions in college. I like to see a guy make the most of a second chance.
Trav: Yes. I read about those decisions. I’m hoping he learned from them.
