Just kidding! We’re home. It was a long drive, but despite that, it seemed to go by too quickly. I think it’s because I had so much ‘family’ with me. Let’s see, it was garbage day here, but . . . we’ve been gone since the last garbage day so there was no early morning task to do.
Instead, I prepared a report, of sorts, for my mother and my siblings. I had gathered quite a bit of new information about our ancestors that I thought they would all enjoy. After all, it’s really telling new stories and I love stories. I made copies of everything I had and got the envelopes in the mail to everyone.
I still like that some stranger recognized my connection to my Luxembourg family because of my resemblance to someone whose been dead for a long time. I emailed the photo to my siblings and my sister said, “Yup! You do.” I dunno. I think I need a new dress in that case.
The thing is, I see Angel and a younger version of my mother in that face, too.
Goodnight and I have just been resting today. I guess the cemetery hiking, the harbor walking, and the festival caught up with us. We spent the afternoon baking cookies and then watching a movie together.
Later this evening, I have a date to follow the hint I read on someone else’s blog. I won’t name names, but I’ll just ‘dance’ around with a hint. She had a half glass of wine next to her as she typed a blog post.
