Hello!
My name is Miss Phitt, but you may call me Phitty (as in Phitty-something). That’s what they call me around the Goodnight/Gram homestead.
I was asked to write a guest post because Goodnight and Gram have been busy participating (unwillingly) in the Pertussis epidemic – or is it an outbreak? I’ll have to ask Gram when I get a moment with her.
It’s been rather quiet around the house, with the silence broken by the occasional phitts of coughing and frightening constricted airway noises. The coughing has made Goodnight exhausted. Gram keeps her vigil over GN to make sure she can breathe. So far no blue lips.
Gram has been busy on the phone with the Public Health Department and their required follow-up calls, running to the doctor, and then to the pharmacy for antibiotics. Gram’s first call from the Department of Public Health informed her of a minor detail that was overlooked by the clinic: the recommended course of action is antibiotics for everyone in the household of someone with an active case of pertussis. Gram received the information 12 days later than she should have.
I’m afraid this post isn’t very interesting, but neither is this household right now.

Thank you, Phitty, for the update. Tell Goodnight and Gram that lots of people are thinking about them and hoping they are well soon.
Phitty, Please tell Goodnight and Gram that I am praying for their quick and safe return to health.
Phitty – please relay to GG and GN that I hope they will be feeling better very soon – also tell them that I am sending a REAL note to them in the mail.
Dancing on a Blade of Grass: I will.
Oh that’s a shame about the broken protocol. Let’s hope no one else was impacted by not receiving that information when they should have. Hope you both feel better soon. This is a lousy way for GN to spend her summer before HS.
